Angel Tree Campaign To Benefit Area Animal Shelters
Best Friends Angel Tree Campaign Seeks Donations for Pets in Need
Local animal lovers can share their holiday spirit by donating food, toys and treats for homeless dogs and cats through Best Friends Pet Care’s 12th Annual Animal Angel Tree campaign. All donations will benefit the pets cared for by the Monmouth County SPCA and Rescue Ridge Shelter of Spring Lake.
Best Friends has put up its Animal Angel Tree in its lobby. The tree is decorated with paper ornaments featuring photos and information about needy dogs and cats. Pet lovers can call to select a card from the tree and donate from the shelter’s wish list for that dog or cat. All pets featured on the tree are available for adoption.
“The holiday season is always difficult for our local animal shelters,” explains Sasha Armstrong, manager of Best Friends in Shrewsbury. “This year, Hurricane Sandy has put an even bigger burden on shelters because so many lost and abandoned pets need help. We know our Angel Tree program will make a difference for many pets in need.”
Donations to the Animal Angel Tree program can be made before December 31, 2012 by visiting Best Friends in Shrewsbury at 24 Riordan Place, or calling 732-212-9234; or Best Friends in Marlboro at 234 Boundary Road, 732-431-3900.
Best Friends Pet Care offers boarding, grooming and doggy day camp at 42 locations across the U.S. The Animal Angel Tree campaign is one way the company gives back to the community. Since the campaign began, it has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of food, toys and pet care products for more than 100 different shelters and rescues across the U.S. For more information visit www.bestfriendspetcare.com.
