Red Bank Elk of the Year and more awards!
The Red Bank Elks Lodge have announced their yearly awards. Congratulations to:
Elk of the Year, Tom Spagnoli:
In the 6 years that Tom has been an Elk, he has been invaluable at the lodge. Clearly drawing from his past as a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy, Tom knows how to get things done. From providing meals for Friday night dinners, meetings, and special events, to working at the bar, to participating in the House Committee, to being Chair on the National Elks Foundation committee, not to mention heading up the Super Bowl, Ocktoberfest, and St. Patrick’s parties, and countless other responsibilities at the Lodge. And he does all these things with expertise and in such an effortless, good-natured, and impressive manner. And you cannot mention Tom, without giving recognition to his wife Elba, equally loyal, and equally hard working at the Lodge.
Citizen of the Year, Kevin Blaine:
Kevin an Elk for 3 years, has clearly been busy heading up and coaching our Youth Activities programs including basketball, baseball, and soccer programs. And we guess he’s a good one, as demonstrated by the winning trophies displayed in the Lodge. Kevin humbly remarks, “It’s fun, I’m just a big kid afterall”, well Kevin, thankfully you are, because you’re not the only kid who is having fun.
Officer of the Year, Clifford Baum
18 years, that’s how long Cliff has been an Elk, and during that time he’s been busy as Chaplain, Inner Guard, and Secretary. Keeping up the Lodge’s administrative, membership, and management duties is not a small task, but Cliff is meticulous with all his obligations and makes it all look easy.
Certificates of Appreciation
Gaylord “Mike” Watts was recognized for his hard work in managing the renovation of our downstairs and upstairs restrooms making them handicapped accessible. As was Walter Edgar, for all his work around the Lodge.
Membership Awards
The following members were also given award pins and letters of appreciation for their efforts in garnering more members for the lodge: Amy Martinsen, Elba Spagnoli, and Eileen Brennan-Watts.
And a special Thank You to the Ladies Auxiliary for their generous donation of our new stoves and ovens in the kitchen!
