Updated: Candlelight Vigil Friday to Remember RBR's Riyadh'Na Farrow

High school senior died suddenly Monday morning

A candlelight vigil will be held Friday night to remember the Red Bank Regional student who died suddenly Monday morning.

The Count the Children Movement will sponsor the memorial in honor of  from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Montgomery Terrace housing complex at Tilton Avenue. Organizers plan an evening of reflection and peaceful prayer.

Farrow, who had just begun her senior year in high school, died Monday morning after police responded to 911 calls reporting an unresponsive female. Authorities are still awaiting a cause of death, although foul play has been ruled out.

"This tragic loss deeply saddens our entire community, and our thoughts and prayers are with our student’s family and friends," Marianne Kligman, Red Bank Regional's community information officer, .

Farrow's guidance counselor, Chris Desiere, described her in a Patch blog post as a leader among Red Bank Regional students. “She was the one consistently reinforcing positive messages. In difficult situations, hers was the voice of reason that cautioned for cooler heads to prevail.”

Red Bank Regional parents also are soliciting donations to help defray Farrow's funeral expenses. Anyone wishing to donate should write a check to "The Source Foundation" and state "funeral expenses" on the check memo line. It can be mailed to The Red Bank Regional School District, 101 Ridge Road, Little Silver, NJ 07739, Attn: Suzanne Keller, Source Coordinator.

The Count the Children Movement is a Red-Bank based organization dedicated toward "improving the livelihood of our youth in a respectful, safe, nurturing and honest manner."
