Feeling Lucki in Red Bank

New downtown Red Bank clothier, Lucki Clover, is bringing California chic to the Jersey shore.

Leah Cole shows off some of the clothing at Lucki Clover Wednesday.

The name itself represents two fashion ideals, Leah Cole said. Lucki represents California city chic. Clover represents the classic California beach style. And now, Lucki Clover, Red Bank's newest retail clothier, is bringing the two together and introducing left coast fashion to the Jersey shore.

"Red Bank's a very hip and trendy area," Cole, store manager and purchaser, said late Wednesday morning. "When people come here, they're looking for other things, something different."

Lucki Clover opened officially Wednesday after designs for the store were finalized in December. The new shop is located at 20 Broad St. B, one half of the former site occupied by Zebu Forno, which recently opened two doors down on Broad. Renovations of the site include a new separating wall and the removal of a drop ceiling, allowing for chandeliers and ductwork to mingle along side each other, a modern design that highlights the clothing hanging on racks and folded on shelves beneath them.

The clothing boutique is one of a few to have opened in Red Bank recently, along with Emilia and Rue Royale Couture, though where those two offer dresses and gowns for special occasions, Lucki Clover stocks new styles and designs for everyday use, from a day at the beach to a night out on the town with friends.

Cole said Lucki Clover also has the appeal of having a reasonable price point for its clothing. With only a few exceptions, most of the clothing in the store runs between $30 and $50, she said. Lucki Clover also offers jewelry, accessories, and shoes, too.

Lucki Clover is open seven days a week.

I don't know what it is about exposed brick, but it makes me want to shop. Can't wait to visit the new shop.
