Gordon Ramsay Seeks Nightmare Cure at Monmouth Meats

The popular TV chef visits the Monmouth Street butcher for quality steaks.

When television chef and world-renowned restaurateur Gordon Ramsay was looking for quality meat to headline a re-launch dinner, he sought out Stew Goldstein and Red Bank’s own Monmouth Meat.

Ramsay, in the area recently filming an episode of Kitchen Nightmares at Oakhurst restaurant Mike and Nellie’s Steakhouse, found his way to the Monmouth Street butcher while on the lookout for quality cuts of meat.

According to a release, Ramsay chatter with Goldstein for the better part of half an hour, after which his television crew filmed a segment to be used as part of the upcoming Fox show.

“I was truly honored to have a Chef of Gordon Ramsey's caliber seeking advice from me on butchering and serving my meat,” Goldstein said in a statement.

On Kitchen Nightmares, Ramsay helps struggling restaurants often by improving their menus, kitchens and service. The show highlights restaurants with serious issues in hopes of returning them to their previous glory, and, more importantly, to ones that make money.
