Kevin Smith Schedules Signing at Secret Stash
Kevin Smith will be at Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash Sunday.
Writer, film director, and, most recently, podcast impresario Kevin Smith will be signing copies of his new book Tough Sh*t: Life Advice from a Fat, Lazy Slob Who Did Good at Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash this Sunday, Aug. 26.
Fans of the new media maven might even have a shot at appearing on television. The signing is being filmed for Smith's reality television show Comic Book Men, entering its second season on AMC this fall.
Smith, the Jersey-centric director behind films like Clerks and Chasing Amy, posted the update on his Facebook page and encouraged fans to stop by the Broad Street comic book shop between 2 and 5 p.m. Though Smith sightings locally aren't too rare - Smith has filmed spots for Comic Book Men in Red Bank along with the show's stars - public displays have been limited.
According to a post on Smith's SModcast website, attendees are asked to arrive early and are required to sign a release form. There is a limit of two autographs per person.
Comic Book Men revolves around the hijinks of store employees and SModcast podcasters Ming Chen, Walt Flanagan, Mike Zapcic and Bryan Johnson. The show debuted in February with a run of six hour-long episodes after Walking Dead. After gaining steam through it's run, the show was renewed for a second season, this time with 16, half-hour episodes.
Season two of Comic Book Men premieres on Oct. 14.
