St. James Elementary School is hosting a blood and bone marrow drive today, Monday, from 4 to 9 p.m. in honor of Tommy Cleary, an eighth grade student at the Red Bank school currently battling Leukemia.

Central Jersey Blood Center will set up in the school's gymnasium at 30 Peters Pl. for the blood and marrow drive.

Cleary, a Red Bank resident, is currently receiving chemo therapy. All attendees are invited to donate blood or to agree to have a buccal, or cheek swab performed to see if they're a possible marrow match.

Schedule a blood drive appointment for the blood drive by calling Karen Moore at the New Jersey Blood Center at 732-842-5750, ext.243. Walk ins donors are also welcome at the school. Healthy donors must be at least 16 years old.
