Not too Late to Join Lunch Break Gala
The combination food pantry, soup kitchen, and social services provider is hosting its annual gala this weekend.
The Fall Gala is Lunch Break's largest fundraising effort of the year and features an auction, live entertainment and food from Red Bank Flavour-participating restaurants.
According to a release from Lunch Break, the auction items include a signed Jon Bon Jovi guitar - Lunch Break and Bon Jovi's Soul Kitchen are partners - an antique Stickley rocking chair, items from Tiffany's and gift certificates to country clubs and restaurants.
There also will be wine and beer tasting, among other activities.
Lunch Break is a soup kitchen and food pantry that also offers social services, outreach programs, as well as a slew of other services for disadvantaged residents.
"The Fall Gala is not just our main fundraiser of the year, which enables us to provide food and other services to our neediest community members, it's a celebration of all we do at Lunch Break," Love wrote in an email. "It's about commitment to community, compassion and service. We promise an evening you won't forget. Please come, support our efforts, and be part of the Lunch Break family!"
Lunch Break also is marking the occasion by presenting three special awards. The Sickles Family and Sickles Market will be honored, as well Red Bank Catholic High School Youth, and volunteers Henk and Petra Vanderven for their dedication to Lunch Break.
The gala is being held this Friday, Oct. 5 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Two River Theater on Bridge Street. Tickets are $125 each, or $100 if bought in a group of six or more. To purchase tickets or to request more information call: 732-747-8577.
