Point Pleasant Beach: Stay Out of Town!

Police ask that people stay away from beach and boardwalk

Point Pleasant Beach police are strongly urging that people not come to town to look at the ocean or Manasquan Inlet.

"We seem to be having an influx of people coming into town in order to look at the ocean and inlet," said Detective Pat Petruzziello early Sunday afternoon. He said police are strongly urging people "to not come into town for this purpose as we are in the midst of a mandatory evacuation."

The police are currently working on getting residents and visitors east of the NJ Transit train tracks, on Arnold Avenue and Route 35 north, out of town as quickly as possible and by a 4 p.m. deadline at the latest.

For the residents east of the tracks who are still in their homes, police are issuing the following reminder: "The Point Pleasant Beach Office of Emergency Management is reminding residents that evacuations are mandatory for all residents on the east side of the train tracks and voluntary for those on the west side of the train tracks.

"Regional shelters have been established and anyone that requires transportation to a shelter needs to be at the Point Pleasant Beach High School, Forman Avenue side, between 6:00 and 6:30 PM today, Sunday. Although shelters are available we strongly urge all residents to find alternative sheltering if possible and use the shelters only as a last resort."

A shelter will be available at about 4 p.m. today at Point Pleasant Borough High School. For information on other shelters, please click on this link.

Great job by the Police going home to home to get people to leave. People who stay put them at risk if they need assistance.

Ok so if that is what they are supposed to do.....they are supposed to put in their 8 hours as everyone else is supposed to do unless of course you dont work at all....However they are not only putting in 8 hrs...they are putting in 16-24 while their families are home with their wives to take care of everything in storm by themselves. So since you have so much knowledge in thier jobs and have so much to say....maybe you should go door to door to all of thier wives with small children who need help while their husbands are out trying to help out you and your families....Theres a plan!!!!

Hey staying regardless, i bet when you need help you call the police right? do you even know how the pension system is structured? i bet you voted for whitman who decimated the police and fire pension at their expense to "save" the towns money. so did u in fact save any money or did your taxes go up every year? im so tired of people like you, why dont you go stand on the jetty and pray to "stay put"

Typical responses from people who defend and actually want people to feel sorry for the police. I work for a living and have my own business so I put in alot more than 8 hours per day. People in my line of work put themselves at risk everyday. I understood that when I chose my profession as did the police officers of their respective towns. I also have a wife and children at home and they worry about me just as much as any police officers wife and family worry about theirs so what's the point. When I need the police at home of course I call them because that's their job. Just like your power going out you call and rely on the good people of your energy provider. If you people really want to feel sorry for people how about feeling for a 22 year old man with a wife and young child at home while he is defending your freedom and husband's pension over in Afghanistan? After you answer that maybe you should be the one praying on the jetty you pos

To staying regardless....Yes he has chosen that profession and is not complaining about all of the hours....You are the one that has a problem with it. And ps.....he is also in the armed forces and can get called to activate at any given time.....so eat your words and continue to run your business and work more than 8 hours a day....He always works more than 8 hours a day except now it is mandatory and he gets to sleep for maybe 4 in a 24 time frame. He doesnt work in a cherrie pie community,....when he is working it is actually working....And I also work full time and then come home and work taking care of my kids....You are the one who had the sarcastic remarks....Nobody was poking fun at your career....so before you know....keep it inside your lips because once you let it go.....you look like the idiot....just sayin.....

hey staying regardless i guess your too consumed with being a "victim" then to really realize how stupid you sound. Police work more than 40 hours a week, and when your a** is sound asleep they are answering calls keeping your town safe and providing a safe environment for you and your family, yet they are the pos? i guess you really paid attention when they taught douchebaggery in school. but i guess if i was as miserable of a person as you are, id probably want company too.

The corpse is apparently well http://www.coachoutletonlinegg.com preserved: a young woman, lying face down, http://www.coachoutletonlineaol.net shielding her face with her hands at the moment http://www.coachfactoryoutletwy.com of death. Her dress has risen up http://www.coachoutletstorefc.com and is tangled around her waist, her bare http://www.coachoutletaol.org legs exposed beneath. She is currently on display at http://www.coachfactoryoutetmp.com the J Paul Getty Museum in Malibu, as the first http://www.coachoutletns.com exhibit in a show that explores the ways that http://www.coachoutletstoreonlineys.net modern artists - from Francesco Piranesi http://www.coachfactoryonlineest.net to Anthony Gormley - have responded http://www.coachfactoryoutletpst.com to history's most famous volcanic eruption.
