Kathryn Barnett is the best!!! She is so inspiring to my daughter and all of her students! She is so patient and kind these kids don't even know they are learning. The work she and the other teachers put into these kids is so amazing to see at the recitals each year. Even more so because it is done with such love!

Kathryn Barnett doesn't just teach dance - she teaches joy, and love, and happiness - even in the face of adversity. When I walk in the door, I feel cherished - even 33 years later!

The experiences that my granddaughters have at KICK are so worthwhile. The teachers are talented and expert in their field and the students love them. There isn't a day that goes by without comments about their dance classes and they love to show off what they have learned. Being on the competitive team gives them the discipline they need, but it is offered with love and respect for each dancer. They love KICK and so do I.

My daughter tried so many activties, including dance at another studio, before she went to Movement Dance Academy. I think the reason she has thrived at Movement are two-fold: the environment provided by the staff and student population is just the right mix of challenge to grow and excel and support to keep trying and have fun. Second, the school has a wonderful mix of kids, girls and boys from different backgrounds at different performance levels. Despite the differences, the teachers and the parents do a great job of instilling the ideals of team work and mutual respect. This more than anything make Movement a wonderful place for a child to grow.

Kathryn Barnett is by far the best ! It's all about the kids for sure! Both of my girls have been dancing there for 3 years now and can't wait to go to class each week! Kathryn, thank you, you fill my girls up w happiness and dance!

After watching my wife teach for over 30years I have to tell you that she inspires children of all ages. I have seen alumni go on into dance, professional cheer leading,
dance company's and many other careers. I can only say that the phrase "It's all about the kids" which she began using has proven its true meaning over the years.
What ever she does she puts her all, her heart, into every thing she has done. From recital to recital, competition to competition, to Holiday Express and The Charter School and First Friends, she just gives and some how she always has more for the next day.
I know I have my bias and you will take that into consideration but I have never known a better teacher of the dance experience.

Movement is not only a dance studio its your home. Us dancers spend numerous hours together, with the teachers, and with the stage; we have created an unbreakable bond. Myself, along with the other older girls on my team are sad to go next year, but its all worth it. So much time and dedication goes into all of our hard work. The teachers put in so much effort to make us the dancers we are today. They taught us not only how to dance, but how to respect one another and learn a new kind of love. Movement Dance Academy not only instills important values of hard work, commitment, and respect, it also puts on the most amazing shows. The quality of the instruction is excellent and the choreography is extremely professional. The dancers are a joy to watch.

Seeing all the posts from students of my own and fellow dance teachers proves what I've always said---dance is an integral part of our childrens lives. I am very proud to have taught at Movement Dance Academy the past 19 years--bit even more proud of the positive affect ALL the studios are having on our children! Its always been about making them better PEOPLE--not just better dancers! I am truly blessed to do what I do and to inspire these young hearts and minds as my was when I was a child!
