Are you a musician, magician, drummer, entertainer, singer or dancer? Have an original performance talent? Think you have what it takes?
Red Bank RiverCenter is looking for the best local talent to entertain in its downtown this summer. For the 13th consecutive year, Red Bank’s summer music and performing arts series, StreetLife, will return to the sidewalks of Red Bank giving many in the area an opportunity to show their talent!
RiverCenter is inviting talented adults and teenagers (16 years and older) to audition for this summer’s program from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20 at the Count Basie Theatre Rehearsal Studio on the second floor of 99 Monmouth Street.
“We are thrilled to be presenting this very successful program again this summer," RiverCenter Executive Director Nancy Adams said. "Many visitors come in to town on Saturday nights to see the performers and to enjoy a night out in Red Bank. We are proud to be able to offer a venue for the musicians and entertainers to perform.”
Each performer is asked to bring two minutes of prepared material to the audition, highlighting his or her skills, a biography and references, if available. Groups audition acoustically and need to provide demos.
StreetLife supports local artists while showing off Red Bank’s status as the cultural heart of the Monmouth County area. Introduced in 2001 by Red Bank RiverCenter, StreetLife officially begins June 1st and continues from 6 to 9 p.m. every Saturday night through Aug. 31.
This year, RiverCenter is working to bring new and exciting performances as well as some old favorites all over the business district. Current StreetLife sponsors include: Monmouth County Arts Council, the Count Basie Theatre and Red Bank RiverCenter. If you are interested in sponsorship, call RiverCenter offices.
Artists will be selected by representatives from RiverCenter, Red Bank Visitors’ Center, Monmouth County Arts Council, and the Count Basie Theatre.
