In its first year under the umbrella of Riverview Medical Center's ever-expanding Paint the Town Pink campaign, Shrewsbury, or rather Pinkbury, pulled out all the stops to show that it not only supports the cause but may be willing to help lead it.

At Shrewsbury's borough hall Sunday night, hundreds gathered for Light the Night Pink to help raise awareness for the need for women over 40 to get yearly mammograms. The event, which featured a cake walk as well as several pink-related activities, culminated with the pink lighting of the town's gazebo.
