Why would I want to listen to Chris Christie? The governor with the 4th worst economic record in the nation. A keynote speaker for Mitt Romeny a former Governor who made his state rank 4th in Job Creation. Neither Christie nor Romney has a good record. In fact the politics they support is letting Wall Street write its own rules, giving millionaires and billionaires on the middle class dime..... are the reason of the crashed economy in the first pl

Do you actually believe this? Taxes are the lowest they have been in decades, Federal government is the lowest in decades... He ended one of the wars that was a major cause of the debt, and is getting us out of the other...

The biggest jump in the debt was the Bush tax cuts, So I guess you could blame Obama for extending them after making a bipartisan deal... or extending TARP from the Bush admin...

as for entitlement programs... Your numbers are skewed, and just wrong. Social Security is NOT an entitlement program. and that is the only way you can get a number as high as you quote. And those numbers sound a lot like the stuff the heritage foundation spews. It is like the lie the GOP keeps spreading about Obama gutting the work requirement in welfare. These sorts of distortions don't help us fix what is wrong, it just polarizes us as a people.

@Patrick: keep in mind the numbers coming from the left are as equally skewed and biased. Somewhere in the middle lies the truth. Problem is no one remembers what the middle is anymore, and I believe this "silent majority" is getting fed up with the extremists of both sides. Sensationalism in the media sells, at the expense of creating or perpetuating polarization.

John, You are the one who needs to get your head out of your butt... Obama stepped into the war that Bush started that could not get the job done. Bush conveniently did not add the war cost into his budget the entire time the country at war. Obama came in and added it to the budget..How long should have Obama kept the war cost at bay. That is what actually added billions of dollars in debt. But let's blame Obama. That is what happens each president leaves the next president with unwanted presents. Each Administration blames the next for all the lies. Christie is also one to claim he is doing so much for NJ, sure he is... I don't know anyone who's taxes went down. The new school tenured is a joke that he brags so much about. Do you really think anythings is going to change in the schools? He was on 101.5 the other day and he is claiming people in NJ tell the truth. Sure they do, just like him...Right!

Patrick, you're serious that the size of the Federal Gov't is the lowest in decades?

As for gutting Welfare, King (Thug) Obama did exactly that. He did what was specifically forbidden and written into the law. The law as written said that no President could change it. The Thug in Chief by Fiat (just like his immigration Fiat) just imposes his own will.

What part of it isn't true... We are out of Iraq, and ramping down in Afganistan, this happened under his watch... He signed the order. Bush may well have had a plan, but then again he had a plan to protect us from the mushroom cloud of nothingness and cost the lives of so many needlessly. If you are military or former military, why you would be protecting a former President who put so many of your own in harms way needlessly... needlessly. well I have nothing further to say. You can question my patriotism or whatever. But, I support te troops. I want them protecting US. Not getting payback for for some family vendetta or oil. cause it sure wasn't weapons of mass destruction or terror.
Also, if you remember it was Bush who had ticked off the Iraq government by not setting a time table. It was Bush who tried to lock us in for Obama's first term, and it was only when Obama had promised in his campaign to withdraw in 16 months di the Status of Forces Agreement happen. That is just fact,

When I was 12 years old, my friend's father took his son and me to NYC for a day. Our first stop was Aqueduct Race Track, where I made my first $2 bet and won $68 on the daily double playing my favorite two numbers. That day I knew I had found the path to fame and fortune, and so did my friend's dad, who let me pick up the tab at the Gas Light Club later that day. I knew I was part of the 1% that day, which, of course, was an enlightening experience about as close to reality as Ann Romney will ever get to identifying with the lifestyles of the less fortunate 99% no matter how nicely she attempts to do so. As for Governor Christie, perhaps he should follow some of his own advice about responsible leadership and stay home to address the problems of his state instead of trucking around the country promoting himself and his future with the amazing accomplishments that only he seems to know about. Governor, for someone who prides himself on being the center of attention while employing his trademark Jersey attitude, your speech last night was a dud (kind of like a pack of firecrackers that only produces one or two semi-climatic little pops.)

It wasn't banned at all. in fact the guy who brought the suit, Stewart Dimmock. was backed by energy interests. and the points that where found to not have substantial scientific evidence to support them, was over semantics, like the fact that if teh ice caps melt water levels will raise 20 feet... That wasn't in question just how long it would take. So the judge said that if the film was shown, and yes it is allowed to be shown in schools in all of Britain (England is just a part of Britain BTW) but there should be a work sheet of discussion to go along with the film. You know learning and critical thinking.... NOT as you say "contain fake information that was negatively affecting children." google it. facts don't lie.

Sooooo...speaking of "semantics...."

That isn't banned is it. and it was 7. and non where disproven, it was ruled for one, as I stated, that it wasn't properly contextualized.

So do you not believe in global warming ??? was his intent wrong? do you think he meant to lie? or was it that in the span of a film perhaps full context is impossible.

John Jay

9:22 am on Wednesday, August 29, 2012

In England, the public schools are banned from politically indoctrinating children! Imagine if could create rules that would stop the Left Wing/Democrat assault on our children?

"...Awarding Mr Dimmock two thirds of his estimated legal costs of more than £200,000 against the government, the judge said: "I conclude that the claimant substantially won this case by virtue of my finding that, but for the new guidance note, the film would have been distributed in breach of sections 406 and 407 of the 1996 Education Act."

These sections ban the political indoctrination of schoolchildren and require political views to be presented in a balanced way."

Educate yourself people. Here is BO's budget. Go to Table S4

http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/omb/budget/fy2013/assets/tables.pdf

Social Security is projected to grow from $773B to $1.4B by 2022
Medicare is projected to grow from $468B to $967B
Medicaid is projected to grow from $255B to $589B
Interest payments projected to grow from $255B to $915B
Debt will explode another $8.6 TRILLION on top of the $16T is already is

Obviously there is no plan to cut the debt but watch spending double again. If anyone thinks this social spending creates jobs and security. You are mistaken.

New Jersey's Constitution requires a balanced budget. It does bug me when I hear that ad saying "we balanced the budget" because, yes, NJ must. So, I'll give the folks props for getting the job done, though we don't always agree on what stays and what goes.

The debate has been ongoing for years about whether the US should have such an amendment with reasoned arguments for both sides.
What we do need is to do as a people and as a nation is talk(and listen) to each other not at each other and make reasoned arguments, not namecalling, negative, untrue or misrepresented statements. This isn't a sporting event, if we don't pull together we are all losers.

He had both houses of congress and the financial system, housing market, and unemployment were a mess. So he spent the 1st two years ramming through Obama care which no one wanted and half the country now wants repealed.

Simon, it is completely inconceivable that you can complain that Obama wasn't given a honeymoon period. If you voted for him, you essentially gave a man who has never had a Value Producing, income generating job in HIS ENTIRE LIFE, and gave him the presidency as a job audition. Nice move!

Time to step aside and let leaders lead, and let Obama go make his millions and billions in the Private Sector all the while he will be living off the government teat for the rest of his natural life.

But I don't think that faux patriot lives there. And I say faux because no American would call his President a commie... No American would have such little respect for his elected leader. I sure disagreed with Bush, but respected that he was fairly elected, the second time at least.
