Obama and Romney Exposed: The Same Candidate

In the U.S.'s limited, albeit fierce spectrum of political debate, there's been quite a bit of hoopla over Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. Take a look at this laundry list of similarities between the two.

1. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both supported TARP.

2. Mitt Romney supported Barack Obama’s “economic stimulus” packages.

3. Mitt Romney says that Barack Obama’s bailout of the auto industry was actually his idea.

4. Neither candidate supports immediately balancing the federal budget.

5. They both believe in big government and they both have a track record of being big spenders while in office.

6. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both fully support the Federal Reserve.

7. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are both on record as saying that the president should not question the “independence” of the Federal Reserve.

8. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney have both said that Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke did a good job during the last financial crisis.

9. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both felt that Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke deserved to be renominated to a second term.

10. Both candidates oppose a full audit of the Federal Reserve.

11. Both candidates are on record as saying that U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has done a good job.

12. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney have both been big promoters of universal health care.

13. Mitt Romney was the one who developed the plan that Obamacare was later based upon.

14. Wall Street absolutely showers both candidates with campaign contributions.

15. Neither candidate wants to eliminate the income tax or the IRS.

16. Both candidates want to keep personal income tax rates at the exact same levels for the vast majority of Americans.

17. Both candidates are “open” to the idea of imposing a Value Added Tax on the American people.

18. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both believe that the TSA is doing a great job.

19. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both supported the NDAA.

20. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both supported the renewal of the Patriot Act.

21. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both believe that the federal government should be able to indefinitely detain American citizens that are considered to be terrorists.

22. Both candidates believe that American citizens suspected of being terrorists can be killed by the president without a trial.

23. Barack Obama has not closed Guantanamo Bay like he promised to do, and Mitt Romney actually wants to double the number of prisoners held there.

24. Both candidates support the practice of “extraordinary rendition”.

25. They both support the job-killing “free trade” agenda of the global elite.

26. They both accuse each other of shipping jobs out of the country and both of them are right.

27. Both candidates are extremely soft on illegal immigration.

28. Neither candidate has any military experience. This is the first time that this has happened in a U.S. election since 1944.

29. Both candidates earned a degree from Harvard University.

30. They both believe in the theory of man-made global warming.

31. Mitt Romney has said that he will support a “cap and trade” carbon tax scheme (like the one Barack Obama wants) as long as the entire globe goes along with it.

32. Both candidates have a very long record of supporting strict gun control measures.

33. Both candidates have been pro-abortion most of their careers. Mitt Romney’s “conversion” to the pro-life cause has been questioned by many. In fact, Mitt Romney has made millions on Bain Capital’s investment in a company called “Stericycle” that incinerates aborted babies collected from family planning clinics.

34. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both believe that the Boy Scout ban on openly gay troop leaders is wrong.

35. They both believe that a “two-state solution” will bring lasting peace between the Palestinians and Israel.

36. Both candidates have a history of nominating extremely liberal judges.

37. Like Barack Obama, Mitt Romney also plans to add “signing statements” to bills when he signs them into law.

38. They both have a horrible record when it comes to job creation.

39. Both candidates believe that the president has the power to take the country to war without getting the approval of the U.S. Congress.

40. Both candidates plan to continue running up more government debt even though the U.S. government is already 16 trillion dollars in debt.

In closing, if you really think Romney/Ryan will bring change, then you're flat out wrong. These two lame-stream candidates are nothing more than servants of Wall Street.

They'll differ on some social issues, one to appease liberals and the other conservatives. But when it comes down to it, no matter which is elected, it wont result in a significant change for the better. Business as usual.

Both of these so called candidates are TOTAL FRAUDS, puppets placed by the globalist groups such as Bilderberg, CFR and Bohemian Grove- which both Obama, Romney and many other past presidential puppets were members of. Our country is toast unless people start waking up. Romney is just as unamerican as obama

People are going to tell you that you're wrong. Kind of like how they all said Ron Paul was crazy when he was making these predictions about the nation's future if we didn't make any changes ... all of which ultimately turned out to be right on the money. There's just a lot of people who take a very lazy approach to elections and automatically assume that all they need to know about a candidate is their party affiliation. The Republican is pro-business, and the Democrat is a Socialist. The Democrat is for the middle class, and the Republican only cares about the rich. I wish people would wake up and realize that, while there are some people in elected office with decent intentions, most incumbents in both major parties are out solely for themselves and their top fundraisers. Obama & Romney, judging by their time in elected office (where they have repeatedly engaged in acts of crony capitalism, such as their respective health care laws), are two of the worst examples of this a person can find. And you wonder why so many voters choose to stay home on Election Day. We deserve better - MUCH better - than these two losers.

Rufus, we will never get really good candidates until the political parties stop playing dirty politics and that has been going on since Thomas Jefferson ran against John Adams. Sadly, the dirt against any candidate, true or false, is believed by some so it works. And, as long as it works, it will continue. Would you jump into that cesspool?

when will they ever learn?

George: There are DEMOCRAT MILLIONAIRES than Republicans -- that is a FACT. Please don't go trying to represent Democrats are "friends" of the working people like myself.

Read the following: There are more millionaire Democratic senators (37) than Republicans (30). The median net worth of Senate Democrats was likewise higher: $2.69 million compared to $2.43 million. See the MSN article from this time last year at: http://money.msn.com/investing/latest.aspx?post=70cc8f98-07b4-4e4e-923e-5569bd82627d and the 15 richest members of Congress: http://money.msn.com/investing/the-15-richest-members-of-congress

No wonder the Democrats want to stop the ID requirement to cast ballots -- how else are they going to be able to perpetuate fraud like this on the American people?

proudnot2bliberal: I won't back down lies pushed by Democrats. Have you ever seen a public school history book that states the following truth:

* Southern Demorats, led by Confederate Officer Nathan Bedford Forest, created the the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).

* The KKK/Democrats attacks and murdered thousands of free slaves. They attacked and murdered REPUBLICAN legislators trying to help free slaves.

* REPUBLICANS forged and passed the the 14th Amendment to the Constitution that ensured freed slaves and their children would be United States citizens.

* Under REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP, freed slaves and their children were able to work for the federal government and run for office. This progressive move thrived until Woodrow Wilson became President.

* RACIST DEMOCRAT Woodrow Wilson BANNED blacks from attending Princeton University while he was president there.

* RACIST DEMOCRAT Woodrow Wilson backed the BLUE PRINT for JIM CROW laws at the federal level. Upon being elected President of the U.S., RACIST DEMOCRAT Woodrow Wilson continued his hate campaign by passing orders that resulted in the mass firings of Blacks from the federal government.

...the campaign of hatred and terror against blacks was eased somewhat when Demoractic President Harry Truman desegregated the armed forces -- but it took REPUBLICANS to get the Civil Rights movement the support it needed to end the decades of Democrat hate campaigns.

How does The Patch allow this guy (Uncle Moe) to pen an op-ed piece? Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but has anyone read the comments this guy authors? Clearly, there's an agenda here at The Lacey Patch and unfortunately I'm not surprised. From the way they delete comments to the content they continue to publish, this is just another shining. Why give a platform to this kind of ridiculous, speculative anti-government crap? What does that say about The Patch? Sure, we're for freedom of speech, and that means every card carrying lunatic can write a piece, and we won't check facts or sources. Man, this is a shame.

@Nicholas That's fine, but by not curating the content posted by "bloggers" you get the results published above. Having an open forum is one thing, but allowing random, and in this case anonymous, people to post whatever they'd like, you're really diluting the content overall on The Patch. The header above the article even says "Local Voices". The I think the old saying...give someone an inch and they'll take a mile...certainly applies here. Considering how adamant the editors/moderators are about removing comments, you'd think things like this wouldn't have a place here - but alas - here it lies. I guess my main argument is where is the line drawn between actual opinion editorial pieces and salacious, unproven accusations against public figures...??? I think by publishing it the way you do, it does give the piece some credit and I'm not sure it deserves to get any.

@Johnson R. Simmons Who is to be the judge of what content is acceptable and whose opinions should be heard? It's called Local Voices because it is a way for the local members of the community to say what is on their mind. Just because some people disagree with Uncle Moe does not mean his voice should be censored. This is still the United States of America, right?

Johnson R. Simmons

3:15 pm on Monday, August 27, 2012

@mrvrnj421 If you read my comment, you'd see I said "Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion...". To answer your question - The Patch is the judge of what content is acceptable. It says so in their Terms. They frequently censor comments that DO NOT violate what they have as unacceptable. My point is simply that just because someone has an opinion, and we live in America, does not give them the right to accuse elected officials in a public forum with baseless claims. If The Patch wants to get into the business of being the vehicle of the insane and the point of reference for conspiracy theories, fine. But where is the line drawn? Would you object to the anti-gay church who protests soldier's funerals being given a forum? Or how about they invite the KKK or some neo-Nazi's to write what's on their minds? Again, opinions , fine - everyone's got them - but do we need to publish every article written by someone with an internet connection?

It doesn't seem to me that he is "accusing" the candidates of anything, other than to say that they are similar and it does not much matter which one wins the election. It's not like he is spewing out messages of hate...He has an opinion about the upcoming election, which is clearly a very important topic for this country. Whether he is right or wrong, I don't see how this article could be considered harmful in any way.

They really aren't that extreme if you think about it. Who's to say the aforementioned groups would publish messages of hate? Maybe they would just post arguments for their stance - similar to what's above. You can't have it both ways. These accusations are harmful, not physically of course but they certainly are. Again, my point is that just because someone has an opinion, doesn't mean they should be given a forum to discuss it. The argument is effective when taken in context with the substance of the article and the comments he offers afterwards - "9/11 is an inside job" is as offensive as the messages some hate groups would convey and isn't that far off from their ideology.

mrvrnj421

3:38 pm on Monday, August 27, 2012

Read some of Uncle Moe's comments, not just in this article but others...you'll be surprised. I personally believe that allowing anyone to publish whatever they want is harmful to the Patch itself and to the no-educated reader believing what they are reading without checking the facts. It's harmful to the elected officials who are mentioned as well. Of course not physically, but to their campaigns and to their character.

In that case, I think it's the lack of education and ability to make decisions for one's self that is harmful. When it comes to expressing opinions, THAT is not something that should be discouraged. If more people educated themselves and spoke their minds rather than blindly following others, this country would be in much better shape.
