This year, 14 Red Bank Regional (RBR) Concert Choir members in the Visual and Performing Arts Academy (VPA) won entry into the prestigious All Shore Chorus for its special 50th anniversary concert. Anisa Abella, Red Bank, Katherine Robinson, Shrewsbury, Elena Ferri, Eatontown, Eliana Swartz , Madelyn Monaghan, (both from Little Silver), Alexa DeAnna, Keansburg, Angelina Garavente, Fair Haven, Mackenzie Clark, Shrewsbury, Gabriella Concepcion, Hazlet, Patrick Martini, Jeffrey Lupton, Courtney, Ravelo, (all from Union Beach), Lauren O’Brien, Little Silver, and Jaclyn Gisondi, Shrewsbury will perform with students from throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties on Saturday, February 2, at Neptune High School from 7:30 to 9 pm. Neptune High School is located at 55 Neptune Blvd, Neptune, NJ. Tickets will be sold at the door.
RBR senior Madelyn Monaghan is an All Shore Scholarship winner and will perform a solo, O! Quante Volte by Bellini from the opera The Capulets and the Montagues. Madelyn intends to study vocal music in college and has applied to many prestigious performing art schools in the region. Last year, she portrayed Dorothy in the Phoenix Production of The Wizard of Oz at the Count Basie
Theatre in Red Bank and starred as Monica in RBR’s first opera, Menotti’s The Medium.
RBR VPA vocal music Teacher, Kristopher Zook will be one of three guest conductors for the 50th anniversary concert along with Mark Megill from Allentown High School and Bill Starznick, who is a founding member of the All Shore Chorus. Beth Moore from Central Regional High School and Regina McAllen from Howell High School will accompany the chorus. RBR is one of
five original members of All Shore.
Kris Zook states, “The song selections will feature the best of every decade of All
Shore’s past including African-American spirituals, folk songs and works by
choral masters, such as Vivaldi, Gabrieli, Haydn and Randall Thompson. All are
guaranteed to be show stoppers. I am honored to be chosen by my peers to
conduct this outstanding musical ensemble as it reaches this important milestone.”
