The ShowRoom Cinema is proud to present Norma, performed at the Teatro Antico in Taormina, Italy.

 Norma is considered Vincenzo Bellini’s magnum opus, and the apex of the bel canto operatic style. The titular high priestess is filled with treasonous desire for a Roman soldier, forcing her to choose between duty and love. Flowing, lyrical melodies – including the infamously difficult soprano aria “Casta Diva” – heighten this sweeping drama. Starring Gregory Kunde, Irina Lungu, Giacomo Prestia, and the “elegant and expressive” Chiara Taigi as Norma (CityArts). Performed at the stunning outdoor arena stage at the Teatro Antico Taormina, Italy.

The opera screening will start at noon. 180 minutes, including one intermission.
