Good Jazz in the Park, Fair Night
It's what's goin' on in the Red Bank-Shrewsbury area on Thursday.
Well, friends and fans, we somehow escaped that threat of scattered thunderstorms again.
And, guess what? The weather troll, uh, I mean National Weather Service, says that there's an ever so slight chance of them again. This time, that slight chance has been narrowed down to one hour, between 2 and 3 p.m. OK. Let's see. The chance is 20 percent.
Now, we know those calculations were off yesterday, so, ahem, let's see. The evening is supposed to be cloudy with low a low temperature of 66 degrees. Sounds like a good night for the Fair Haven Firemen's Fair next door.
Don't forget that the finest fried seafood dining of all time can be had in the dining room at the fair. And, the Out Back has people cooking up some great hot dogs and burgers.
But, before you head over to the fair, you may want to spend some time in or near the water for some end-of-summer fun. Here's that Sea Bright tide table we're bringing to you every day:
2013-08-29 6:20 AM EDT Sunrise
2013-08-29 10:01 AM EDT 0.74 feet Low Tide
2013-08-29 4:27 PM EDT 3.18 feet High Tide
2013-08-29 7:32 PM EDT Sunset
2013-08-29 11:07 PM EDT 0.76 feet Low Tide
2013-08-30 4:59 AM EDT 2.74 feet High Tide
2013-08-30 6:21 AM EDT Sunrise
And, some interesting information about the moon and sun for today from www.tides4fishing.com:
"The lunar phase is a Last Quarter Moon. Today we will have 13 hours and 11 minutes of sun. The solar transit will be at 12:57 pm and the length of time the moon will be visible will be 14 hours and 50 minutes."
Besides fishing or other waterborne activities and the fair, there's Red Bank's Jazz in the Park tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Riverside Gardens Park.
If there's anything we've missed, let us know and we'll add it!
There are, of course, also some news tidbits to share and photos and videos coming up.
