Walgreens Update, BOE Meeting & More

It's what's going on in the Red Bank-Shrewsbury area on Tuesday.

Happy snowy Tuesday, friends and fans!

Yes, the ground is covered with the white stuff. But, will it turn to slush by the afternoon? We'll see.

Schools in the area are in session. It's a no-go for snow days today. But, there are a few things going on.

Around the towns …

• There's a performance of Sleeping Beauty by the Rudolf Nureyev State Ballet Theater touring company at the Count Basie Theatre tonight at 7 p.m. See the County Basie website for tickets and more information.

• The Red Bank Board of Education meets tonight at 7:30 p.m.

• There's a Caregiver Coffee House at Red Bank Library from 2:30 to 4 p.m. It's a monthly support group for those caring for seniors. It's free and food will be provided by Monmouth County Culinary School students. Call 732-308-3770 for reservations.

• You can learn some universal folk dancing at the United Methodist Church in Red Bank from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight.

• Check the site for weather updates.

We will be featuring a story soon on the latest about the proposed Walgreens. The traffic expert offered testimony at last night's Red Bank Planning Board meeting. No decision has yet been made. We'll fill you in on what he said and officials' and residents' perspectives.

There will also be some news updates and features.
