Weekend Full of Fun Coming Up

It's what's going on in the Red Bank-Shrewsbury area on Friday and into the weekend.

Happy Friday, friends and fans! It may have been a short work week, but it was hard to tell with all that's been going on.

The good news, of course, is that the weather has been and promises (fingers crossed, cursed weather troll!) to be a very fair weather weekend, starting with today — temps reaching the high 70s, sun and no humidity.

And, our mystical moon and sun information for today is right here, courtesy of www.tides4fishing.com:

"The lunar phase is a New Moon. Today we will have 12 hours and 50 minutes of sun. The solar transit will be at 12:54 pm and the length of time the moon will be visible will be 12 hours and 3 minutes."

Today through the weekend there's a lot going on in the area …

• Tonight in Red Bank the Darwin B. Oden Quartet is playing in the Shrewsbury Avenue pocket park. It's all part of the borough's Count Basie 365 jazz series.

Skim Bash comes back to the Sea Bright Public Beach all day Saturday and Sunday. Even if you don't participate, it's fun to watch.

• And, in Red Bank on Sunday, the Street Fair returns, with a host of food, games, jewelry, clothing and more. That starts at 11 a.m. and runs until 5 p.m.

• Oh, and don't forget that the Farmers Market at the Galleria parking lot will have shop set up from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

And, if you're looking to get out of the area, check out our Monmouth County weekend event round-up.

Check out our photos of the fabulous Jazz in the Park concert last night featuring The Nick Clemons Band (Yes, The Big Man's son).

So, stay tuned, have a great weekend and … I'll see you around the towns …
