Bayshore Family Success Center Hosts Two Informative Sessions on Housing Issues

The Bayshore Family Success Center, serving the Bayshore community, will be hosting two informative seminars on housing issues that many local families may still be facing since Superstorm Sandy hit the area a year ago.

The center, housed at the Union Beach Memorial Library, is operated by The Community YMCA, and is funded by the New Jersey Division of Family and Community Partnerships.

Foreclosure Prevention Seminar; Tuesday, December 3, 6-7 p.m., the Middletown Elks Lodge, 251 Church Street, Belford

Stefanie Wynne, of the Affordable Housing Alliance (AHA), will review housing options for struggling homeowners. Topics will include:

  • Options for struggling homeowners
  • Modification programs available
  • How to avoid scams
  • The foreclosure process in New Jersey

The seminar is co-hosted by the AHA, and is open to all.

What’s Up with Renters Insurance? Wednesday, December 4; 6-7 p.m.; St. Mark’s Center for Community Renewal, Keansburg

The community is invited to learn more about renters insurance. Topics will include consumer advocate recommendations and lessons learned from Superstorm Sandy.

This seminar is Co-hosted by United Policyholders, a non-profit organization with over 20 years helping people prepare for and recover from disasters.
