A Second Helping of Oyster Fest

The beer and oyster festival returns for a second year to Red Bank

The Guinness Oyster Festival slides back in to Red Bank this weekend for a second year with an event that features lives music, highlights local eateries, and, of course, brings visitors everything they’ll need when it comes to fresh oysters and tasty brews.

The event will be held in downtown Red bank in the White Street municipal parking lot this Sunday from 12 – 7 p.m. Developed after other popular festivals that highlight the start of the oyster-fishing season, the Red Bank festival bills itself as a huge food and music festival, a family friendly event that showcases the borough’s eclectic mix of restaurants.

According to Red Bank RiverCenter, 25 local restaurants are participating in the festival, with many offering event-specific food items. In addition to Guinness, a number of lighter beers and wines will be available for purchase.

The festival includes many musical acts as well, including, you know, with the whole Irish thing, U2 tribute band 2U.

Admission for anyone over 13 is $5. The money raised will help fund the Booker Cancer Center at Riverview, the Cancer Institute of NJ and the Red Bank RiverCenter.
