Drug Buyback in Shrewsbury This Weekend

Shrewsbury is accepting unused, unwanted, and expired prescription drugs.

Shrewsbury is hosting a drug buyback program this weekend, the borough recently announced.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 29, anyone with unused, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs can drop them off for safe disposal - no questions asked - at borough hall at 419 Sycamore Ave. in Shrewsbury.

The purpose of drug buyback programs is to prevent unused medication from falling into the wrong hands as well as to provide a safe disposal method. Disposing of drugs by flushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the trash can have a negative impact on the environment and our drinking water supply.
