Fux Capacitor at Downtown Charity Car Show

A car show featuring the hot rides of collector Michael Fux closed down Broad Street Saturday.

Dozens of hot and exotic cars – Ferraris, Rolls Royces, and Aston Martins, among others – lined a closed-off Broad Street Saturday for the Red Bank Car Show sponsored by the Michael Fux Foundation.

The hastily thrown together event, approved by the Red Bank Council later in July was supposed to go off two weeks ago, but ran into a bit of a snag along the way: one Hurricane Irene. Still, though the event was pushed back a couple of weeks, hundreds of car enthusiasts came out to check out the rides, owned, primarily, by memory foam-mattress man Michael Fux, an investor in Blue Water Seafood on Broad.

The Michael Fux Foundation event helped raise money for two worthy causes, Operation Smile, which helps provide surgery for children born with cleft pallets, and Children’s Cancer Caring Center, Inc.
