Flags at Red Bank's municipal complex are at half-mast in honor of Police Chief Steve McCarthy, who died at 50 on Monday morning.
They will remain that way until Oct. 23 for an official month-long period of mourning in the borough.
The chief's viewing is Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. at John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. His funeral will be held at St. Michael's Church, Long Branch, Friday morning.
