In Focus: A Red Bank Spot for What?

Take a trek back in time with us. Tell us about this spot.

In back of this spot, at the foot of Bodman Place on the Navesink River in Red Bank, sits the Oyster Point Hotel.

Oyster Point has been there for decades. Before it, though, something that served a necessary area function was a fixture there. It was said by environmentalists to be a primary source for mucking up the area waters, putting a strain on marine life and nixing fishing.

Do you know what it was and what was encouraged by the state Department of Environmental Protection to revive a healthy river ecology and economy?
