KaBoom! Preparations Underway

Crews are out and about along the riverfront in Red Bank preparing for this weekend's KaBoom! Festivities.

Preparations are underway for KaBoomFest along the riverfront Friday afternoon, the first day of the three-day festival. Banners and stalls were going up in Marine Park and Riverside Gardens and plastic folding chairs are being set up in premium viewing locations for paying guests.

Across the street from Riverside Gardens, crews were busy inflating children's bouncy rides, erecting a climbing wall, and setting up a scrambled egg ride. Friday night, the first night of the event, features carnival attractions for families. Saturday the carnival comes back and is joined by live music throughout the day. On Sunday the music continues, capped off by the state's top fireworks show KaBoom! Fireworks on the Navesink.

We'll be out all weekend taking pictures and talking to folks, so if you see a Patch reporter say "Hi" or "Cheese" and smile.
