Remains Discovered on Sandy Hook Not Human

The remains discovered in Sandy Hook bay on Saturday were not of human origin, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Brian Polite said on Sunday.

The remains were found in the bay near the Gateway National Recreation Area side. Initially, authorities could not conclusively say if the remains were human or animal, sparking concerns they belonged to missing clammer Edward Broderick, who was last seen on Dec. 14 and remains missing.
