Shrewsbury Lights Up for Hanukkah

Shrewsbury hosted its first aever menorah lighting at its municipal complex Thursday night.

From I've Been Thinkin' columnist Carolann McLoughlin who took the opportunity to stop by Shrewsbury's along with many others to celebrate Hanukkah with the lighting of a menorah:

The turnout was great, close to 100 or more, I'd say. They had a magician there and the kids loved it. There were jelly donuts (hundreds) after the ceremony. Rabbi Laibel Schapiro from Deal officiated and credit was given to the mayor and council and especially to new Shrewsbury resident Pam Hemel (she spearheaded this - our very first menorah lighting). It was a very happy and festive occasion.
