Wendy Williams Takes Stage at Annual Power of Pink Luncheon

About 380 guest attended the luncheon benefitting the Leon Hess Cancer Center at Monmouth Medical Center's Patient Infusion Unit.

Guests broke out their pink heels, ties and dresses Thursday at the 18th Annual Power of Pink Luncheon to benefit for the Leon Hess Cancer Center at Monmouth Medical Center. This year’s proceeds will fund the Patient Infusion Unit.

This year's keynote speakers included Dr. Robert Graebe, Chairman and Program Director, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Monmouth Medical Center, and celebrity speaker Wendy Williams. The event was held at a Navesink River Road home in Middletown.

Dr. Graebe is an accomplished physician, recognized for his work in reproductive endocrinology. He is also one of the first physicians to incorporate the use of Monmouth Medical Center’s robotic surgery system to improve patient outcomes. Graebe spoke about the logistics and improvements of reproductive health since he first entered the medical field in the '80s.

Williams spoke about empowerment and sustainment for women including having a strong support system.

"We as women are pillars in our family and our community," Williams said. "I thank god for doctors like Dr. Graebe for taking care of our families..."

Williams burst onto the talk show scene in July 2009 with the launch of her show which features a diverse mix of interviews with celebrity guests. Prior to daytime television, Williams built a devoted audience of fans throughout a successful 23-year career in radio. She was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2009 — one of only a handful of women with that honor.
