For art's sake Red Bank Regional High School arts students are showing their photography work.
The work of Red Bank Regional’s (RBR) Visual and Performing Arts Academy (VPA) senior commercial photography majors will be on display starting May 8 at Gallery U, 80 Broad Street, Red Bank, through May 20.
The public is invited to come and meet the artists at a special reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on opening night, Wednesday, May 8. The work on exhibit will include a mixture of film, digital, and alternative process pieces, combining both black and white and color work.
The show will serve as a showcase and culmination of the budding artists' best work.
The graduating student photographers, whose work will be exhibited, include: Noemi Valdetano-Luna, Red Bank; Melissa Fingado, Shrewsbury; Gabriella Visciano, Little Silver; Mackenzie Huddleston, Interlaken; Rebecka Zabilowicz, Belmar; Alexandra Gorry, Bradley Beach; Kristen Sidun, Little Silver; and Thomas Suszka, Little Silver.
“These students have worked rigorously over the past four years. They have learned how to develop 35mm film negatives and prints as well as digital
techniques using software such as Adobe Photoshop," said Dawn Lisko, VPA photography teacher. "The photographs featured in the show reflect these lessons and demonstrates their personal growth. We hope members
of the community will come meet the student, view their work and come support our local talent.”
