Burgers for a Benefit

Boardwalk Burgers is donating a portion of its profits to Susan G. Komen.

Boardwalk Fresh Burgers and Fries is teaming up with the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help raise money and awareness in the fight against cancer.

Boardwalk will donated 10 percent of each order through the end of December to Komen when customers mention the promotion. Boardwalk recently opened on Broad Street.

According to a release, community involvement is one of Boardwalk Fresh Burgers and Fries primary focuses, bringing more than just great food to local communities. Store owner Dhruman Shah said he was happy to lend a hand after only just opening.

"I personally like to help my community," he said during a recent interview.

Every Boardwalk Fresh Burgers and Fries location has a special and unique opportunity to highlight and support various local charities and nonprofit organizations.

Komen officials lauded the participation.

"We at Komen are thrilled to expand our partnership with Boardwalk of Red Bank. Red Bank, more specifically Monmouth County, is a great area of focus for our affiliate," the organization said in a release.

"We fund many local programs in Monmouth County to reach women in the communities where they live and work about the importance of an annual mammogram screening."
