Cake Boss' Bakery Comes to Red Bank

The bakery is slated to move in on Broad Street later this year.

Red Bank is unofficially going from a cool to sweeter little town with the coming of the famed Cake Boss' Carlo's Bakery to Broad Street.

"The Carlo's famiglia is growing!" it said on the bakery's Facebook page. "We're headed to Red Bank, NJ!"

RiverCenter Executive Director James Scavone was thrilled to pass on the news, too, that the bakery will be coming to the borough before the end of the year.

"Red Bank RiverCenter is proud to pass on this wonderful news for our cool little town," Scavone said. "We look forward to welcoming this outstanding business to our vibrant business community."

Carlo's will set up shop in what is currently the 3,400-square-foot Posh Pop Bake Shop (formerly Ricky's Candy, Cones & Chaos) at 86 Broad; and, the sweets shop will officially be called Carlo's Bakery Red Bank, according to a release.

The Cake Boss himself, Buddy Valastro, thinks the location offers a pretty sweet setting.

“Red Bank has such a rich history, from the Count Basie Theater to the Molly Pitcher Inn," Valastro said in a released statement. "We are looking forward to bringing Carlo’s Bakery to such a celebrated community. I know the area well and the downtown is just beautiful. It’s a great fit for the bakery.”

The Red Bank location will be the fourth in the state. Currently, in addition to the flagship site in Hoboken, there bakeries in Westfield and Ridgewood in New Jersey. "It's very exciting to grow within our home state," Valestro added.

Other than the offerings of the classic baked goods for which Carlo's is famous, the Red Bank shop will also include a party room, where everything from birthday parties to family reunions can be held, the release said.

Currently, there are several baked good shops in Red Bank. The newest addition is Whipped on Monmouth Street. Lil' Cutie Pops is also on Monmouth and opened a few months ago. Cupcake Magician has been around longer, having also made Monmouth Street its home.

Sugarush is located on East Front Street. There is no word yet on where and/or if Posh Pop will relocate in town.
