Heavy Rains Cause Road Floods, Train Delays in Red Bank

An early afternoon deluge caused flooding on several borough roads.

New Jersey Transit Train service was delayed and several Red Bank road were under flood conditions as persistent heavy rains early Monday afternoon soaked the area.

Flowing water was seen creeping toward the center of several west side roadways, including Shrewsbury Avenue, causing minor delays, though all borough roads, as of 1:30 p.m. appeared to be passable.

NJT train service was delayed for some time - and continued to be as recently as 1:25 p.m. - as flooding conditions caused rail gates to malfunction, keeping them in the down position and preventing trains from entering the station or cars from passing over train tracks. More updates will be posted as they come in.
