9Middletown Man Indicted In Murder of Wife

A grand jury decided that Patrick Allen of Lincroft should stand trial for the murder of his wife, Kimberly Allen.  

The indictment charged Allen, 45, with first-degree murder, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, third-degree hindering the apprehension of another and fourth-degree tampering with physical evidence, said Acting Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

6. Red Bank Could Be Sippin' on the River this Summer

Organizers of Red Bank Flavour’s newest culinary concept, Sippin’ on the River, think they’ve found the recipe for another successful food fair. Scheduled for the last weekend in June, the event is expected to feature gourmet food from the borough eateries, beer and wine, and a great view of the Navesink River from Marine Park.  

5Boondock's Fishery Turns to the Web to Rebuild

When Sandy slammed into Monmouth County in October she washed out homes and businesses alike, but most of Red Bank was left with little more than a long, cold power outage. Not spared wasThe Boondock's Fishery, which hangs on a little piece of real estate on the bank of the Navesink River next to Irwin's Marine Facilities in Marine Park.

Despite moving a large portion of the restaurant to higher ground, Boondock's owner Kelly Ryan saw her beloved lobster shack, along with her kitchen business at Donovan's Reef in Sea Bright, wash away on Oct. 29. The surge took with it her livelihood at both establishments.

3Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Bed Bath & Beyond Stabbing (UPDATE)

A Keansburg woman was pushing a child in a stroller as she shopped in the Middletown Bed Bath & Beyond when she was stabbed 12 times, according to authorities.

The victim did not know 19-year-old Tyrik S. Haynes, the Middletown man accused of trying to kill her Thursday afternoon, Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson Charles Webster said. Haynes faces charges of attempted murder, endangering the welfare of a child and weapons possession, according to a press release from the prosecutor’s office. 

2. Monmouth County Man Joins Subway Footlong Lawsuit 

When Jason Leslie of Marlboro saw a photo online with a measuring stick and a Subway Footlong sandwich, he decided to conduct his own experiment.

Leslie ventured to a local Subway restaurant and found he was getting less than the advertised 12 inch sandwich. In fact, five percent less. According to The Asbury Park Press, Leslie filed a class action suit in U.S. District Court in New Jersey with his lawyer Gerald A. Marks of Marks & Klein in Red Bank.

1Woman Stabbed Multiple Times in Middletown Bed Bath & Beyond

A woman suffered significant blood loss after she was allegedly stabbed more than a dozen times in the back and other parts of her body by a man at Bed Bath & Beyond around 4 p.m. Jan. 17.
