Power Restored to Red Bank Residents (Updated:10:49 pm)

Area struck with heavy wind and rain.

Update 10:49pm: JCP and L is reporting that power has been restored to Red Bank residents.

Heavy rain and strong winds moved through Red Bank in late afternoon Wednesday, knocking out power for some residents. Jersey Central Power & Light has confirmed that less than 500 customers are without power in Red Bank. Other Monmouth County towns with 500 households or less experiencing power outages as of 7 p.m. include Belmar, Freehold, Howell, Millstone and Neptune.

While Monmouth residents experienced severe weather, Ocean County appeared to receive the brunt of the storm, with a and a fatal accident occurring on Route 571 in Manchester.

The National Weather Service reports scattered thunderstorms are possible overnight Wednesday until 1 a.m. Thursday. The forecast also calls for a chance on thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday.
