Truck Gets Wedged Under Railroad Bridge in Red Bank [VIDEO]

It was freed by 6:40 pm; train service appeared to be uninterrupted.

A large ice cream delivery truck, too tall for a railroad bridge near Red Bank, became wedged underneath the span shortly after 5 p.m. Friday evening, triggering a 90-minute effort to free it.

Middletown police were detouring traffic at Hubbard Avenue & West Front Street. New Jersey Transit police were also at the scene and two tow trucks had arrived by 6:15 p.m. The driver of the Uncle Louie G ice cream truck appeared to be deflating its tires to reduce its height so it could clear the underside of the bridge.

By 6:40 p.m., the truck was able to clear the bridge and police were clearing the scene.
