R-FH Parent Arrested Following RBR Baseball Game Melee

Red Bank - A sixth-inning collision — during a tie game when a Red Bank Regional High School player running from third base collided with the Rumson-Fair Haven catcher — cleared both benches and ended up with all brawling players possibly suspended from upcoming games and the arrest of a Rumson parent for alleged simple assault, according to APP.com.

Sandy Hook Opens its Entrance Gates

Sandy Hook - The roadways are rough in preparation for paving, the Sea Gulls' Nest Restaurant and beach stations are still closed, and the multi-use trail is under sand in a few parts. But look past that, and Sandy Hook is back, in all its natural glory.

People came on the opening day to soak in the sun and smell the sea air. They arrived with bikes, kayaks, fishing poles, sunglasses and beach chairs.

Man Dies in Howell Fire

Howell - A Howell man whom neighbors described as "in his 40s" died Sunday morning after a fire at the Oak Hill Trailer Park, according to the park's manager.

Manager Keith Lackey could not immediately confirm the identity of the man, but said that officials told him a man in the home - located on the corners of Man O' War Lane and Seattle Slew Drive - died of smoke inhalation.

Boston Marathon Incident Prompts No Bags Allowed at NJ Marathon

Long Branch - In the wake of the bombings at the Boston Marathon last month, no bags will be allowed at the finish line of the New Jersey Marathon in Long Branch on Sunday, May 5.

Christie Addresses Easement Holdouts at Town Hall Meeting on LBI

Long Beach Island- As the deadline for signing easements is tomorrow, Governor Chris Christie took time at his town hall meeting on Long Beach Island today to warn holdouts that they don't have much longer before he "calls them out."

Heroin Deaths Prompt Task Force

Ocean County- All last year, there were 53 drug overdoses reported in Ocean County. In the first three months of this year, there have been 43 overdoses - nine of which occurred over an eight-day period in April.

Five of those were related to heroin, according to Al Della Fave, with the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
