Breast Cancer Benefit Roller Derby Bout

The Red Bank Roller Vixens will skate for one of their own Saturday,

when they go toe-to-toe with the skaters of New Jersey Roller Derby to benefit Team Slamour Doll and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

Roller Vixen Slamour Doll was diagnosed with Stage IV Triple Negative breast cancer last year. To support her in her fight, the Vixens will walk in the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event next month. Our goal is to raise $5,000 and to help us get there, a portion of all ticket sales from the Sept. 21 bout will go toward Team Slamour Doll (TSD). All of the proceeds from a silent auction, as well as from the sale of special merchandise, will also go to TSD.

Also featured Saturday will be the Jersey Juniors, New Jersey's first junior roller derby team.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the first whistle blows at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10. First responders and military get in for just $8. Admission is free for children under 12. Tickets can be purchased at rbrvnjrd.brownpapertickets.com.
