Community Day and 5K Race Slated For Saturday At Bayshore Community Hospital

Bayshore Community Hospital will hold its second annual Community Day and 5K Run/Walk on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This event will be held at Bayshore Community Hospital, located at 727 North Beers Street in Holmdel.

The day kicks-off with a timed 5K Run/Walk starting at Bayshore Community Hospital. This is the second of three races in the 2013 Meridian Heart and Sole Cup with $3,000 in prize money awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three male and female finishers by age group. Registration and check-in for the 5K Run/Walk begins at 7:30 a.m. and the cost is $25. The first 200 registrants will receive a t-shirt. Additionally, there will be free kids’ races for children between the ages of three and 12at 10:00 a.m. Registration can be obtained on the day of the event and all participants of the kids’ races will receive medals.

After the races join us at the Hospital for awards, light refreshments, a health fair, and more, including a LIVE performance by Miss. Melissa’s Aardvarks.  Melissa Chill is a singer-songwriter who has been teaching music for almost 15 years in Monmouth County.  Her Music for Aardvarks and Other Mammals has been on Jack’s Big Music Show on Nickelodeon Noggin Network.
