Shore Rehabilitation Institute Named 2014 Hospital of the Year by NJBIZ Healthcare Heroes

Shore Rehabilitation Institute was named Hospital of the Year by NJBIZ at the eighth annual Healthcare Heroes awards ceremony.  The Hospital of the Year award was one of 10 honors presented at The Palace at Somerset Park, in the Somerset section of Franklin.

“Our physicians, team members and leadership team are  extremely proud of this recognition for Shore Rehabilitation Institute,” said Amit Mohan, FACHE executive director of Shore Rehabilitation Institute.  “Our collaborative efforts continue to focus on providing the communities we serve with access to excellent rehabilitation services.”

The Healthcare Heroes Awards program was created to honor the efforts of individuals and organizations making a significant impact on the quality of health care in New Jersey.  During the nomination process, companies and individuals nominated themselves or others.  Nominees were then asked to describe their heroic actions based on the category description.  The NJBIZ Hospital of the Year honors hospitals making extraordinary strides and exceptional achievements in health care.

NJBIZ, the leading business publication in New Jersey, “embraces the annual opportunity to recognize the industry’s pioneers with our Healthcare Heroes awards,” said Thomas F. Curtin, publisher of NJ Biz.  “Amid continuing debates over the future of health care, it is important to recognize the people and organizations who are finding new ways to care for patients and communities.”

After nearly 20 years, Shore Rehabilitation continues to find new ways to serve patients in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.  In 2013 alone, Shore Rehabilitation Institute added a technology center outfitted with the latest state-of-the-art equipment, and a driver education training program uniquely designed to address the needs of people with disabilities.  In addition, 19 members of the Shore Rehabilitation team became certified brain injury specialists.

“I always think of my therapists as my angels,” wrote one patient who spent time at Shore Rehabilitation Institute.  “They have chosen a very noble profession, and it is because of them that I was able to achieve my goal of walking again.”

Last year, Shore Rehabilitation Institute was also named amongst one of the best rehabilitation facilities and hospitals by Rehabilitation Management Magazine.
