Career Information Center Librarian honored by Freeholders

Monmouth County Freeholder Lillian G. Burry, Library Liaison, honored Principal Librarian Charles Gross with a special Certificate of Recognition from the Monmouth County Board of Freeholders at the Eastern Branch Library on September 10.

 

Gross is currently the librarian in charge of the Career Information Center at the Eastern Branch Library in Shrewsbury, where he runs monthly programs to aid job-seekers. The Career Information Center maintains a collection of more than 1,300 circulating materials and reference items on choosing a career, changing careers, job hunting, resume writing, interviewing and networking. Online resources include links to online job listings, employment projections, business directories and periodicals.

Freeholder Burry noted that Gross began his tenure with the Monmouth County Library in 1995 as the law librarian at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution. He joined the newly launched Career Information Center in 2000, and he recently assisted the library in establishing a computer classroom at the Eastern Branch for those who are looking to enhance their computer skills.

“The Board of Chosen Freeholders commends Charlie Gross for his exceptional job performance, and his dedication and commitment to the betterment of the community,” Freeholder Burry said.

 

The Freeholders proclaimed September 10 as Charlie Gross Day. The presentation of the certificate was made at the Monmouth County Library Commission’s monthly meetin
