Former Red Bank Middle School Secretary Dies at 91

Flavia Figaro Borchardt, 91, of Red Bank, passed away on Friday August 2, 2013 at home. She was born in and was a lifelong resident of Red Bank. 

Flavia retired in 1988 after many years of service as a secretary from Red Bank Middle School. She also work at the Redden Agency, Camp Cole and the Red Bank Airport, all of Red Bank. 

Flavia was a communicant of St Anthony of Padua RC Church of Red Bank. A member of the Liberty Hose Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, Red Bank, Atlantic Highlands Senior Center and the Xi Alpha Sigma Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi sorority. 

She was pre-deceased by her husband Claude Borchardt, Jr. in January 1978; her parents, Placido and Giovanna Figaro; two brothers Dominic and Gregory Figaro and four sisters Catherine Donato, Rose Ceppaluni, Mary Renzo and Giovanna Ames. Flavia is survived by her children, Rodney P. and his wife Janet of Cranbury, Claudia Carrott and her husband Peter of Ahwahnee, Ca., Lawrence and his wife Marianne of Stamford, CT, Susan Cash and her husband Roy of Brick and Carolyn of Red Bank; seven grandchildren, Natalie, Leanna, Jacqueline, Brittany, Adam, Jeffrey and Michele; two great grandchildren, Jackson and Josephine and her sister in-law, Josephine Menna of Red Bank.
