Lifetime Red Bank Resident, Carmela Soden-Faragalli, Dies at 85

Services begin on Friday; mass on Saturday


Lifetime Red Bank resident Carmela M. Soden-Faragalli died, family by her side, on Thursday. She was 85.

She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Parish in Red Bank, a life member of the Red Bank Union Hose Fire Company Ladies Auxillary and a retired cashier at Riverview Hospital Cafeteria, after 22 years of service.

Carmela is survived by: her loving sons, Harry Soden Jr., and Alan Soden Sr. and his wife Gertrude, both of Red Bank; grandchildren, Harry Soden III, Michael Soden, Alan Soden Jr., Melissa Lettice and Christopher Soden; and five great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.

Visitation is being held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 at St. Anthony De Padua R.C. Church, Red Bank. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Donations to Alzheimer's Association , 400 Morris Ave., Ste. 251, Denville, NJ 07834 appreciated.
