Red Bank Resident, Jack Cogan, Dies at 80

Services begin on Friday at 11:30 a.m.

Red Bank resident Francis B. "Jack" Cogan died at home on Monday, Aug. 5., at 80.

Born in Asbury Park, he lived in Rumson before moving to Red Bank. Jack enjoyed cars and motorcycles and was a frequenter of car shows and races.

He enjoyed traveling in Europe during his earlier years. Jack worked for the state for many years building seawalls and dredging. He worked his way up to principal inspector and he took a buyout and early retirement at the age of 55.

Jack is predeceased by his parents and sister Kathy. He is survived by: his wife of over 30 years, Dorothy Cogan; his daughter, Donna, and her husband, Hank Alexander; and his sister, Pat, of Seattle.

A visitation will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank on Friday, Aug. 9, from 11:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m., with a service at the end of visitation. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
