Wayne Fisler, Owner of Wayne's Market, Dead at 58

Fisler succumbed after a long battle with cancer.

Wayne Fisler, longtime owner of Wayne's Market on W. Front Street, died Sunday at Riverview Medical Center, according to an obituary posted in the APP. He was 58.

According to the obituary, Fisler owned Wayne's Market for the past 37 years and helped found Red Bank Riverfest, an annual event that draws thousands of people to the borough to enjoy music and food. He is survived by his parents, Ellen and Henry Fisler, his wife of 34 years, Diance, his two daughters, Jessica and Amanda, a sister, Sharon Fisler, and several other relatives.

Despite being sick for some time, Fisler continued to work despite his illness. Patch caught up with Fislerto discuss the right wine at the right price .

Visitation for Wayne will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 22 at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 23 at St. James R.C. Church, 94 Broad St., Red Bank. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown, according to the obituary.
