Better communication is needed if we must have the George Sheehan Race in Red Bank
As usual, the information about street closures and suggestions for how Red Bank residents, who have the misfortune of living anywhere close to the extensive race course, can get to the other side of town or even out of town is non existent.
A message that reads in part "At 7am the closure will expand to the entire length of Broad Street and all adjoining side streets. " is not helpful. The person at the police station said I should go to Middletown on Newman Springs Road and come back into town in order to get to the train station. When I asked how I could do that when Broad Street was closed I was transferred to an answering machine.
Do we really need this race and this extensive road closure?
