A Deer Caused Fatal Accident on Garden State Parkway in Middletown Tuesday

Tragic accident happened in the northbound lanes at Exit 112.5.

Joseph DiPadova, 59, of Neptune was killed in an accident in which the Acura TSX he was driving Tuesday morning hit a deer, a guardrail and then a tree in the median near mile marker 112.5, according to state police quoted in news reports on NJ.com and APP.com.

Lincroft First Aid & Rescue Squad, along with Lincroft Fire Company, was called to the scene at 5:50 a.m., according to Middletown Township EMS Spokesman Bob Pfleger. The victim was pronounced dead by MONOC’s paramedics a few hours after the accident.

The northbound lanes fully reopened around 9 a.m. Backups persisted until 10 a.m. as far as Brick at Exit 91, according to nj101.5
