Alleged Bon Jovi Burglar Arrested on New Charges

Nicholas Tracy again in custody after police allegedly find stolen property in his Beachwood home.

A man that police said allegedly robbed the Middletown home of Jon Bon Jovi and who is also facing burglary charges in Toms River was again arrested on new charges this week, police said.

Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said Tracy, 22, of Beachwood was arrested this week after an investigation into multiple burglaries in Silverton and North Dover.

Around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, responded to a suspicious vehicle parked on Silverton Road, and when the vehicle left the residential road, Detective Brian Lomer followed.

"Shortly thereafter, Sergeant Ralph Stocco found a home whose owners were on vacation had been burglarized," said Mastronardy in an email.

The home's rear window was smashed with a rock and jewelry was removed from the bedroom. Officers investigating found the driver of the suspicious vehicle was Tracy, Mastronardy said. Tracy was arrested in a parking lot in a shopping center in South Toms River.

Detectives Brian Lomer and Louis Santora executed a search warrant at Tracy’s home on Clubhouse Lane in Beachwood, and searched his vehicle.

Mastronardy said police recovered alleged proceeds from the Silverton Road burglary, but he said additional stolen goods from other burglaries were also recovered.

Police believe the stolen goods also came from a March 6 burglary of a North Bay Avenue home, and Dugan Lane burglary on Feb. 17.

In the incident, Mastronardy said a boat anchor on the property was used to smash through a glass door. The ransacked North Bay home had sports memorabilia and other valuables stolen.

The burglary, jewelry was taken in an incident between 5 and 10 p.m. that day, where the suspect used a landscaping stone to break a rear door to gain entry into the residence, Mastronardy said.

Detective Chris Fluck charged Tracy with receiving stolen property from the Dugan Lane burglary and bail was set at $20,000. He is being held on $25,000 bail from the charge of burglary at the Silverton Road home.

Toms River Captain Bruce Burgess and Detective Loring Dunton are coordinating the continuing investigation with other agencies with similar burglaries Lacey Township, Ocean Township, Berkeley Township, Beachwood, Brick Township, Middletown, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.

The Asbury Park Press reported previously that Tracy was also arrested for breaking into Bon Jovi's Middletown home, as well as an alleged incident in Rumson.

Tracy was also arrested on April 13 when Middletown police responded to a residence on Navesink River, after being alerted by the home’s alarm system activation. Upon arrival, patrolmen Ryan Riffert and Carl Roth located Tracy hiding in a third floor bathroom and took him into custody, according to Middletown Patch.

Tracy faces charges stemming from the alleged theft of $500,000 of jewelry out of four Navesink River Road homes.

Middletown Detective William Strohkirch, the lead investigator in that case, and Detective Peter White, conducted the follow up investigation which resulted in Tracy being charged in April with: four counts of third degree burglary, three counts of second degree theft and the recovery of many of the alleged stolen items. Tracy was processed and was being held on $100,000 bail with no 10 percent option, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

According to police, the Monmouth County burglaries occurred over a two-month period beginning in March of 2011.

Recently, Tracy was indicted for a Toms River burglary and resisting arrest charges, accused of breaking into a Whitty Road home Oct. 26, then running from a Toms River police officer who tried to apprehend him. He allegedly rode a bicycle from the Whitty Road home to the Ocean County Mall parking lot, where he led police on a chase and was apprehended, police said. He was initially held on $15,000 bail but posted the day of his arrest.
