Area Man Arrested, Charged with Heroin Dealing Near Red Bank Housing, School

The following information was obtained directly from Monmouth County court records and the Red Bank Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 20-year-old area man has been arrested and charged with possessing and dealing a substantial amount of heroin in Red Bank.

Terrell Rainey Jr., of 131 Hulick Ave., Long Branch, was allegedly found in possession of 49 decks of heroin at 40 Bank Street, which is within 500 feet of public housing and 1,000 feet of a school zone, according to the complaint warrant.

He was arrested by Red Bank Police Sgt. Robert A. Clayton on April 2 and charged with: possession and possession with the intent to distribute heroin, possession with the intent to distribute (heroin) within 500 feet of public housing, Evergreen Terrace, and possession with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school, Red Bank Primary School and resisting arrest by using physical force against Red Bank police officers while they were arresting him, the warrant said.

Rainey's total bail amount was set by Judge William Himelman at $100,000, with no option to post a 10 percent bond.

Rainey is slated to appear in municipal court today, April 4, at 8:30 a.m.
