Assault Charge for Alleged Cop Pushing

A Red Bank man charged with aggravated assault after police said he pushed an officer at the police station.

Red Bank resident Raul Escobar-Lopez was charged with resisting arrest and aggravated assault after police said he pushed a officer while at the police station Sunday.

Escobar-Lopez, 19, allegedly pushed Patrolwoman Heather Pubylski in the chest backwards into a metal door frame as she attempted to handcuff him.

According to the police report, the Sunset Avenue resident was at the police station where officers were attempting to release him on lesser charges when he allegedly resisted arrest and committed the assault. The original, lesser charges were not immediately known.

Escobar-Lopez was charged with resisting arrest and aggravated assault and ordered held at Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $12,500 bail with no 10 percent option.
